According to eyewitness reports, a vehicle narrowly missed a pedestrian and slammed into a vacant building in the 100 North block of Third Street at approximately 2:30 a.m.. Police are currently at the scene.

After hearing the impact, citizen journalist and Marquette Social Scene affiliate Josh Reinaas spoke with witnesses. The vehicle was heading East on Bluff Street when it made a late turn South on Third. After the turn, the vehicle almost hit a person and crashed into the store front. The vehicle then fled the scene.

The vehicle is a black SUV, possibly a Lincoln Navigator.

The store front received significant damage, including all street-side windows broken. The location was the former home of Second Skin Shop, which is now located on Washington Street.
