Northern Michigan University head track and field coach Jenny Ryan announced the NMU track and field team will be hosting two community track and field meets within the next month. The ‘TrackTuesday‘ events will be held July, 28 and August 4 beginning at 6 p.m at the Marquette Senior High School Track Facility by the football field.
The events that will be ran at the meet include the 100-meter, 200-meter, 400-meter, 800-meter, 1,600-meter (mile) and 3,200-meter (two mile) with a long jump competition held throughout the meet.
Times will be announced during the meet but will not be recorded and it is advised for participants to bring their own stopwatch if they would like to have their time recorded.
The cost to compete is a $5 minimum donation with all proceeds going towards expenses for the upcoming track and field season. Registration/check-in for the meets will begin at 4:30 p.m. each day and run until 5:45 p.m.
