Do you appreciate it when your favorite drink slinger pours your favorite liquids? What about when you relax with the good stuff on tap and a room full of your closest friends? Is that an image you can see yourself biting into with all the flavors of Buffalo wings or fish sandwiches?
Well you have the chance to tell your favorite locations how much you appreciate them, as four Marquette bars have been named as finalists for MLive’s Best Neighborhood Bar.
The Vierling, Wooden Nickel, Stucko’s Pub & Grill and the 906 Sports Bar & Grill are all up for the title, but are currently all far behind the leaders Keyhole Bar and Grill of Traverse City. Stucko’s is leading the way of Marquette’s bars with 3.81 percent, just .68 percent ahead of the Wooden Nickel.
Each bar has a different aspect of Marquette culture. The Vierling has already won a Best of the Lake award this year for their fish sandwich and is Marquette’s oldest brewery. The Wooden Nickel holds the Upper Peninsula’s largest selection of tequila, while being one of the original bars in the city.
Taking the new is good route is 906, who entered in as the hot new thing. They are the youngest of the over 50 bars on the ballot. Stucko’s has taken a newer business approach with the addition of Breakers Roadhouse and their food truck, while staying true to their menu and their famous schoops.
With less than 24 hours to go, these Marquette locations could use your support. People can vote for three locations on each ballot, but can vote from computers, phones and mobile devices. Voting will end at noon on Tuesday, September 9. You can vote on the MLive website here.
