It is with great sadness that we inform you Pat Riepma, Head Football Coach and Associate Athletic Director, passed away early today, Tuesday, July 14, 2015.
Riepma spent more than 21 years as a part of the Northwood Athletic Department. He is the all-time leader in coaching victories for the football program, having won 95 games in his 16-year coaching career. A four-time GLIAC Coach of the Year, Riepma guided Northwood to three GLIAC Championships and four appearances in the NCAA Playoffs.
He also served as athletic director at Northwood from 2000-13. Riepma was vital in the dramatic improvement of the Northwood athletic facilities over the past few years.
Details regarding visitation and funeral arrangements will be forthcoming.
Northwood’s first game of the season will be at home against Northern Michigan University on Sept. 5. The Timberwolves defeated NMU in the season opener last year 23-13. It was Riepma’s first game back as a coach.
