The Marquette Royales completely dominated the St. Louis Frontenacs 5-0 Saturday night at Lakeview Arena. Marquette had 82 shots on goal for the night.

After a calm first 15 minutes, Cameron Wirick broke first blood with a wrister past Matt Memolo. Brandon Weycker and Jayson Dahlquist had the assists.

The Royales had multiple breakaways and head-on shot opportunities, but Sam Weidenbaum finally capitalized with a top shelf shot at 9:06. Ingus Matins also grabbed a goal in that manner just two minutes a later.

It is the second straight blowout win for the Royales, after dropping St. Louis 10-0 last night. Marquette scored three shorthanded goals, a hat trick for Wirick and Weidenbaum’s first goal of the season.

Bryce Leaf had 19 saves in the shutout while Memolo had 77 saves in the loss.

Marquette improves to 13-23-0-2 for 28 points, while St. Louis moves to 0-38-0-0 for zero points. The Frontenacs are now 5-123-0-5 over the last three seasons.

The two teams will faceoff in the regular season finale tomorrow. Puck drops at 1 p.m. at Lakeview Arena.
