The Goat Rodeo will be hitting the town for their tenth biannual bar crawl in Marquette. Featuring nine different Marquette locations, participants of “Your Last Ride” will receive a t-shirt, a drink at each bar and transportation through longer parts of the trip.
The event is one of the main biannual bar crawls sponsored by Double Trouble Entertainment and Checker Transport, but the series has expanded this year to include smaller crawls for opening day of baseball season. The big crawls traditionally line up with the Thursday of Northern Michigan University’s finals week for the fall and winter semesters as a way for graduates to have one last hurrah in Marquette. However, all members of the community over 21 are able to buy a ticket and join in on the fun.
“Its a fun time in a safe, controlled and responsible environment,” said Double Trouble co-owner Bill Digneit. “There’s a collective reason to celebrate, so its a lot of fun for everyone involved.”
Registration begins at 5 p.m. at the Wild Rover where bar crawlers can get their t-shirts and wristbands. The Goat Rodeo moves to the Doghouse Pub before heading down to Remie’s and Breakers Roadhouse.
Around 8 p.m. the crawl will hop on the buses from Checker Transport to Third Base, the Wooden Nickel and Coco’s before hitting Aubree’s at 10:30 p.m for pizza. The crawl ends at Flanigan’s at 11:20.
Past bar crawls have travelled to Harvey, Negaunee and Ishpeming, but this crawl will stay completely within the city. More information can be found on the bar crawl’s Facebook event page. Tickets are $30 and are available at The Wild Rover, Doghouse Pub and the Double Trouble office in the “I Do” Wedding Center in Harvey.
Marquette Social Scene will be following along on the crawl on social media. Follow along @mqtsocialscene on Twitter and Instagram for the current location of the crawl and the next stops.
